Dear Member,
Thank you for renewing your membership in the Chesapeake Marine Canvas Fabrication Association, Inc. and welcome to our new members. Many thanks to those that make the effort and attended our recent 20th annual convention in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey. We are sorry that the snow kept some of you away at the last minute, but a truly enjoyable time was had by all.
First I want to personally thank Ty Hancock, our outgoing President, for all the hard work, leadership, and dedicating hours upon hours upon hours of planning and preparing and phoning so the convention could come off. Also, hats off to the officers and directors for another year of fine work. Actually their work is continuing in the wrap up phase even now.
And where would we be without our suppliers? Always there to support, participate, donate and help out. Please remember them as you make your spring purchases. There names are in your directories.
Please keep your directories handy to use throughout the year. Keeping in touch can only advance the organization. Any changes or additions to your listing should be directed to our membership chair Jeff Harris at Starbird Canvas.
Also visit our website CMCFA.org during the year for updates.
Special thanks to Tom Graham, Brian Reed and Walt Skola for their work on the canvas demonstrations and Bob Rizer for the waterproofing seminar.
Congratulations to Walt Skola from S & S Custom Covers. His bimini boot was voted best and he won the Sunbrella Supreme from Glen Raven in our first attempt at Tip & Tricks of the Trade. What a close competition, with 3 people tied for second place only 2 votes behind.

Thanks for the confidence you displayed in electing me President. I hope we can put together a record breaking convention in 2007 at the Radisson in Annapolis, Maryland. The second weekend in February.
We have received suggestions in programs which included: shop tours, mobile shop display, needle and thread seminar, installing “U” zippers, expanded version of tips & tricks of the trade, upholstery and cushions in interior fabrics, dodger, new products review, and of course market day with our suppliers.
Any Additional suggestions are invited and actually coveted by the board.
Any critiques you may still have should be mailed or faxed to Sandy’s Coverings. Every critique is read and considered. Even the things that our feedback says are good, we will attempt to fine tune.
We received on February 16, 2006 in the mail our acceptance on the Articles of Revival.
Have a good and prosperous boating season. Take plenty of picture entries.
Wishing you good health and God’s speed.
Sandy Taylor
